Job Summary & Duties:

B&N seeks a flexible, energetic, innovative, technically savvy full-time librarian who is comfortable in a high school setting and familiar with evolving online resources. The responsibilities for this faculty position include maintaining and developing the library’s website, providing reference and other instruction to students individually and in small groups, arranging special programs to teach students to use digital resources, cataloging, assisting in collection development and the general management of the library, and other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:
An ALA accredited MLIS degree is required.  At least three years of professional library experience, especially in a high school library, is preferred. Also preferred:a solid knowledge of and experience with digital educational resources and the ability to educate and assist students and faculty in the application of these resources; familiarity with social media applications, including blog creation; working knowledge of office suite applications. In addition, the candidate will enjoy working with students in an educational setting and have:

  • Good organizational skills,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills,
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues,
  • High standards of professional conduct,
  • A good sense of humor.

Salary:
